Hulu Will Be the Streaming Home for Lollapalooza Through 2023
The news that Hulu will be the streaming home of Lollapalooza through 2023 is an exciting move for music fans and the festival industry alike. The streaming service will offer behind-the-scenes looks and special footage from the event. Additionally, Hulu will stream two live streams each weekend and a single feed on Thursday. The schedules for these live streams will be announced later. According to Disney, Hulu has accumulated more than 45 million subscribers, and in a three-month period ending April, it signed up nearly 300,000 more.
The deal will include streaming select performances from all three festivals. Live Nation and Hulu have partnered to stream the concerts for free for Hulu subscribers. In addition, the three festivals will feature special footage. The first performance will air on Hulu in June. The other two will air on the streaming service for free for Hulu subscribers. Hulu will also stream select performances from the festivals at no extra cost.
As a result of the agreement, Hulu will become the streaming home for the popular music festival for the years 2022 and 2023. It has already partnered with Live Nation to stream the festival in 2021, and will stream selected performances for Hulu SVOD subscribers at no additional cost. Fans will also be able to watch behind-the-scenes footage weeks ahead of the festivals.
In addition to live streaming of the music festival, Hulu will also be hosting the three major music festivals of the year. These events are Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits. Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza are organized by C3 Presents. Both Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits are also streamed on Hulu.
The exclusive streaming rights of three music festivals will give Hulu subscribers access to separate live streams of all three events. Bonnaroo takes place June 16-19 in Manchester, Tenn., and Lollapalooza is July 29-31 in Chicago Grant Park. The lineup for both of these festivals includes Metallica, Doja Cat, and Jaz Sullivan.
Live streaming will be available for the two-week Austin City Limits music festival, which takes place in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. Hulu will stream all three festivals in 2022 and 2023. While Hulu streamed Lollapalooza last year, Hulu has not aired ACL before. The three festivals are Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits. Bonnaroo kicks off on June 16 in Manchester, Tennessee, while Austin City Limits kicks off Oct. 7 at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas.
Lollapalooza will continue to be a staple of music culture in Austin. This year’s ACL Festival will take place between October 7th and 14th in Zilker Park and feature artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, SZA, P!nk, and Lil Nas X. Meanwhile, the ACL festival will take place the first two weekends in October, and will be the second year to feature a lineup that includes Pink, The Chicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and SZA.
The festival will continue to be an important part of music culture, and Hulu is making sure it stays that way. The streaming service has a growing fan base and it will be easy to catch the festival on your favorite streaming platform. Hulu will stream Austin City Limits from Oct. 7 through Oct. 8. Artists performing at the festival include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pink, The Chicks, James Blake, and Robert Glasper. Other highlights include Wet Leg, Kacey Musgraves, Flume, and Paramore.
